Ok, so I am immensely inspired to write a little bit about Mustafa Shakir.  He has been on my radar to share his light with you, the readers of Nevah Black Down for some time.  I’ve personally known him because of the whole spoken word scene in NYC over the years.  I’ve always thought he was and is strength embodied both in stature and spirit.  His presence is magnetic and grand.

A powerful and confident black man  both in stature and image is what the world needs at this time.  He fills that niche easily.  He talks the talk and walks the walk.  His larger than life character can fill any room yet it is his humility that makes him so loveable and magnetic.  His performance in Luke Cage jumps off the screen and lands in your lap “effortlessly”.  His time has come and it is well derserved!

Mustafa “Effortless” Shakir is arguably among the most dynamic and inventive of world-class actors.  He is fast becoming one of the freshest and most-in demand faces in Hollywood.  He is known for his delivery of intense and captivating performances. Shakir has created a gallery of memorable characters.

Shakir’s career does more than span film and television.  His wealth of talent encompasses many art forms beyond film and television.  He pools inspiration from hip-hop, dance, culture, film, photography, fashion, philosophy and writing.   Growing up, Shakir used the written word to process his emotional impressions.  His love of poetry led him to rapping with three albums under his belt.

It is so nice to see someone pursure their dream with so much vigor and succeed.  He is definitely a role model we can all be proud of.
